Maintenance method
Normally, it is sufficient to use a soft brush to wipe away dust or to use a device such as a blower to blow dust off.
If a product gets dirty
If a small area of a product becomes dirty with liquid or grease, use a cotton bud soaked in antiseptic alcohol such as methanol to gradually wipe it off.
If dirt gets into an uneven part of an image, please use a used toothbrush soaked in alcohol to remove it.
For dirt over a large area, please use cotton pads soaked in alcohol to remove it.
If the dirt is not sufficiently removed with antiseptic alcohol, please use a cloth soaked in a dishwashing detergent diluted with purified water to remove it. As long as the detergent is a generally-available type, either a neutral or alkaline one can be used. Purified water is available at pharmacies, and is normally sold for contact lens solutions. A bottle of 500ml costs should cost less than a dollar. After washing a product using detergent and purified water, use additional purified water to wash the entire product and remove detergent. Thereafter, please use a dry cloth or cleaning cloth for glasses to dry the product. Washing only a single part tends to leave detergent on the product and this may lead to that particular part shining in a different way; therefore, please always wash the entire product. If water is left in a grooved part, please dry it by using a dryer or in clear air. Using alcohol to run the water off before it dries helps prevent uneven dry drying with a cloth.
Using tap water or bottled drinking water to wash Millennium Photo or Stainless Photo products may lead to the product to shining in a different way due to trace amounts of minerals and other substances contained in the water. If you use water, please use water that contains little chlorine substances, such as purified water.
Please avoid using dirt-remover containing abrasives such as cleanser, tooth powder and toothpaste because they can leave scratches on the product.
