We often see award and commemorative plaques and signboards made of stainless steel in towns and at tourist sites. However, they are not made of 100% stainless steel. Pigments are used for the dark parts of photos and for black text. In general, it is difficult to keep pigments firmly attached to stainless steel, and it is easy for coating to peel off stainless steel; therefore, it is believed that pigments can wear in as little as several years when kept outdoors and that strong burnt coating will also wear in approximately 20 to 30 years and come off.
Since colors on Millennium Photos and Stainless Photos, which are made of highly-corrosion-resistant stainless steel, are created by changing the surface condition of the stainless steel itself, they will not peel or fade, even after several decades.
Millennium Photo is a process suitable for advanced reproduction of images; therefore, it is suitable to be used for portrait and landscape photos; however, we will also accept orders for Millennium Photos with only text on, such as for awards, songs, and poems.
If a Millennium Photo/Stainless Photo product is fixed to a material such as a base board or foundation stone, the best method of installing it is to select a flat type Millennium Photo or Stainless Photo and strongly fix it using special bolts named “anchor bolts”, after making round holes in four corners (round holes plus anchor bolts).
Please ask us for design and work for entire stainless steel stand-alone monuments.
Moreover, the number of lifetime years may vary depending on the climate of the location where the product is placed and the usage condition. For details, please see here.
