Q: How can I take care of the product?

A: Using a soft brush to remove dirt is sufficient.

Q: How can I clean the product?

A: If you find a small liquid or oil staining on the product, please slightly wet a cotton bud with disinfectant alcohol such as methanol, and wipe it off a little at a time.

If you find dust between the concave and convex parts, put some alcohol on an old toothbrush and remove the dust.

If there is dirt over a large part of the product, wet a piece of cotton with alcohol and use it to wipe the product.

If you cannot sufficiently clean the product with alcohol, dilate some dishwashing liquid or other detergent, wet a piece of cloth with it, and use it to clean the product. You can use either a neutral or alkaline general detergent. Moreover, rinse the detergent by washing the product entirely with purified water and wipe it again such as with a dry cloth or cleaning cloth for glasses. You can buy purified water in pharmacies such as for washing contact lenses, and it costs about less than one dollar for 500 ml. If you try to wash only one part of the product, detergent will be left behind on it, and this may cause the relevant part to have different light reflection, therefore, please wash the detergent out completely. If you are concerned about water being left in the concave parts, you can dry it with a hairdryer, or leave it to air-dry in clean air. Removing the water with alcohol before the water dries reduces wiping unevenness.

If you use tap water or drinking water in a plastic bottle, since a small amount of minerals included in the water are left behind on the surface of the stainless steel, it is possible that the light reflection may be different. If using water, please use water which does not contain impurities, such as purified water.

Please refrain from using detergents containing abrasives such as cleanser and toothpaste since doing so might cause defects.

Q: The color has become slightly white — is there a way to restore the original color?

A: Since Millennium Photos and Stainless Photos are very tough, products which you use in everyday life will hardly change their quality. In most cases, since discoloration is simply due to dirt, is highly likely that it can be removed.

These products will not get damaged with toothbrushes, nylon brushes and natural material scrubbing brushes; therefore, you do not need to worry when brushing your product with detergent.

If you cannot still remove the dirt from your product, please send it to us.

Q: The product turned red — has it rusted?

A: Since SUS316, which Millennium Photos and Stainless Photos use, has the highest corrosion resistance among all stainless steels, it will not rust easily; however, its only weakness is chlorine. If you leave it at the seaside and expose it to sea water for a long time, it may rust.

If you use the product in this kind of environment, you can prevent rusting by regularly washing it to remove dirt.

If the product rusts, you can remove the rust by washing with acid before the rust advances deeply. After soaking the product in a solution of 2 – 3% acetic acid or citric acid for a few hours, or washing by spraying the solution with a sprayer if it is fixed to a wall, brush the rust and wash it out with sufficient water.

Q: Somebody has written something on the product — can I remove it?

A: If the writing is only just with an oil ink pen, paint or spray paint, you can remove it by using a solvent appropriate to the paint. Since paint cannot stick to stainless steel easily, and is a material which it is hard to paint, you can remove most kinds of paint. It may be difficult to choose the appropriate solvent; however, since stainless steel is strong enough to resist solvents for paint, it will not change if you try several kinds of solvents.

Please remove paint inside grooves by brushing with a natural-material scrubbing brush made of materials strong enough to withstand organic solvents. Please do not use a wire brush since it may cause scratches.

If the product is scratched by something hard and if the surface is damaged, it is unfortunately difficult to restore the surface.

Q: Can you fix the product after it gets scratched?

A: If the white part surrounding the White frame type and Double-sided J-shaped frame gets scratched, we can change it. Please ask us for more details.

It is difficult to fix the image part of the main body in many cases; however, since we may be able to fix it, please ask us about it.

Q: The product has been scratched — can I remove the scratches with sandpaper or a chemical solution used for removing scratches?

A: If you college the product, the polished part will be different from other parts, and it will stand out. If your product gets get scratched, please ask us before dealing with the issue yourself.

Q: The product got bent — can you fix it?

A: It depends on the situation, but you may be able to fix it if it is simply curved. However, the fact that stainless steel, which is extremely strong, was bent implies that a strong force was applied; therefore, it is possible that the product was not only bent but that there are also other defects. It might be difficult to restore it to its original condition.

If the product is dented, it is difficult to restore it.

Q: If the brass coating comes off in the future, can you recoat it?

A: It will not change for several years if it is kept indoors; however, if this happens and you send it to us, we will firstly remove the coating and then reapply a new layer. Since this involves heating-processing, we cannot come to the location where the product is installed.

Q: Can I heat the product up?

A: Please avoid putting the product in high-temperature environments. Millennium Photos and Stainless Photos can withstand up to about 200 degrees centigrade (400 degrees Fahrenheit) for short periods of time. There is no problem if you use a hairdryer on your product.

If you heat your product to over 300 degrees centigrade (600 degrees Fahrenheit), even for a short period of time, the surface color of the stainless steel will change. Since putting a product into direct contact with a flame, such as a gas fire, causes the color to change, please avoid doing so.

Please note that if you constantly leave a product with a brass coating finishing in an environment at more than 50 degrees centigrade (120 degrees Fahrenheit), it will accelerate the wear.
